Lay up Berthing

Lighterage Quay
350m of quay space with adjacent concrete hardstanding for storage and handling of goods. Garbage disposal facilities are available on the quay, together with fresh water.
Pilotage
Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 60 metres LOA. Pilots may be ordered direct from Falmouth on +44 (0)1326 211376
Storage
Covered and open storage available through the Harbour Authority consisting of 13,000 sq. ft.(6,000 covered, 7,000 open) on the quay.
Cargo Handling
Cargo handling to date includes bulk commodities (coal, ore concentrates, sand, stone, scrap metals) together with agricultural products (animal feed, fertilizer, grain, calcified seaweed) & building materials (timber, concrete products etc).
Navigation
The deep water channel is marked with lit buoys to Lighterage Quay. Small craft can be in attendance to assist in berthing and taking lines ashore. The Port being tidal dries out at low water when vessels sit on soft mud. Maximum drafts of vessels are dependent on weather conditions but average 4.1m at MHWS. Vessels of the Rhine barge type, up to 85m LOA are particularly suited to the Port.
